Yes, that’s what this rather unusual looking bird is called. While I was crawling around in the thorns and dead grass of the veld shooting dandelions I remembered to turn around and look for this guy. I had spotted him last week but only had a chance to shoot him backlit. This really didn’t work and I wanted to try getting a little closer. His legs seem inordinately long for his body and his eyes are almost alien-like! Ladies and gentleman, the Spotted Thick-Knee!
