I headed out one day to take some photos around our neighbourhood (we live in a gorgeous part of the world and I sometimes feel like I am cheating because taking beautiful photos here is sometimes really easy) and I was greeted by this little wagtail sitting on our garden fence. These guys are very friendly and spend time walking around on the ground with their casual swagger. Their tail wags with each little clawstep that they take, hence the name wagtail. Well, Mr Wagtail just sat there as if to say, “Take my picture”.
So I obliged and proceeded about my business fully expecting my 6ft frame to scare him away, but that didn’t happen. As a matter of fact he just sat there and watched me walk out our garden gate and come around the corner to where he was sitting. And just at that moment did I see this photo opportunity. I was only a metre and a half away from Mr Wagtail when I shot this. I do love this shot but not as much as Caroline, my wife. She has shared it a little more than once over on From Africa-With Love. A recent post by one of her readers prompted the appearance of Mr Wagtail. I hope you enjoy his swagger as much as we do.
Yay! I received my enlarged photo today! As soon as I can get it framed I plan to take of picture of it and post it for you! Thank you very much for my little wagtail!
